These are engrave-able materials. Brass, Silver Brass (add 20¢ per square inch), and Copper plates usually have the lettering oxidized (blackened), which adds 2¢ per letter on plaques.

Borders for plaques and other items are generally cut from a colored aluminum.  They can add a nice accent to your plaque, nameplate, trophy, or sign.  Great for incorporating a company's or organization's "Colors".
